Privacy Policy

When you use Nexelia, we collect the following information:

• Account information: your name, email address, and password (hashed).
• Study progress: which questions you answer, flashcard reviews, exam attempts, and accuracy data.
• Preferences: exam board, subjects of interest, daily study goals, and exam dates.
• Usage data: pages visited, features used, session duration, and device/browser type.
• AI interactions: questions you ask the AI tutor and study coach recommendations generated for you.
• Payment information: processed securely by Stripe. We do not store your card details.

• Personalisation: to generate study plans, track your progress, and recommend content tailored to your weak areas.
• Service improvement: to understand how students use the platform and improve features.
• Communications: to send assignment reminders, weekly digests, and important account notifications (you can opt out of non-essential emails).
• Security: to detect fraud, abuse, and protect the integrity of the platform.

Your data is stored on Supabase (PostgreSQL database) hosted on EU servers. All data is encrypted in transit (TLS) and at rest. We retain your data for as long as your account is active. When you delete your account, all associated data is permanently removed within 30 days.

We use the following third-party services to operate Nexelia:

• Supabase: database, authentication, and file storage.
• Stripe: payment processing for subscriptions and per-subject purchases.
• Resend: transactional email delivery (confirmations, password resets, notifications).
• Google Gemini: AI model powering the tutor and study coach features.
• Vercel: website hosting and deployment.
• Plausible Analytics: privacy-friendly, cookie-free website analytics.

We do not sell your data to any third party.

You have the right to:

• Access: request a copy of the data we hold about you.
• Correction: update or correct inaccurate information via your account settings.
• Deletion: delete your account and all associated data at any time from account settings.
• Portability: request your data in a machine-readable format.
• Objection: opt out of non-essential communications at any time.

Nexelia uses only essential cookies required for authentication and session management. We use Plausible Analytics, which is cookie-free and does not track individual users. We do not use advertising cookies or third-party tracking pixels.

Nexelia is designed for A-Level students (typically aged 16-19). We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13. If you are under 13, please do not create an account.
